The General Goals Of The Omani English Curriculum (Grade 1 – 12) that are related

to ‹ the Population Education›
1. Gain the functional command of English as a preparation foe work or for further
studies and as a means of communication with the outside world.

2. Demonstrate strong moral beliefs, principles, behavior and pride in their country,
their Gulf heritage, and the Arab world.

3. Use English as a medium for learning about cultures as well other cultures, valuing
the diversity of the world›s people, cultures, and ecosystems; and understanding and
actively promoting equity, justice, peace, and the protection of the environment in
their community, Oman, and the world.

4.Develop awareness of learning strategies and study skills and apply them for further
their leaning of English both inside and outside school and become more self directed
such as dictionary skills planning and organizational skills, and self monitoring

skills.
The general objectives of the English language (Grades 14-)

Develop an awareness of English language as an instrument for communication.

Talk and later write about themselves.

Develop an awareness of the link between language and culture.

Develop a positive attitude towards other people and cultures.
Contribute to the development of their intellectual, social, emotional and physical
skills.

Use English for communication in and outside the classroom.
