Sixth: Shared Reading

Team Together Oman textbooks include shared reading lessons (Graded Readers). In grades One
and Two these readers are included in the Sounds and Spelling Book and in grades Three and
Four they are in the Class Book. There are two readers after each unit and teachers can choose
which of the two readers they want to cover in class and which pupils can do at home for
homework. More details on dealing with these readers are indicated in the Teacher’s Book and

in the “Shared Reading Guide” below.

Besides, there are some extra shared reading materials teachers can use along with the graded
readers provided in Team Together Oman textbooks.

Extra shared reading materials

• There are four printed Big Book stories for shared reading.
• There are two stories for Grade 1- ‘Where is the baby?’ and ‘I can do’, and
two stories for Grade 2- ‘My Blue Cap’ and ‘Who ate the food?’
• These are only suggested titles. Teachers are free to choose the books they feel are most
appropriate for their students’ needs, level, and interests.

• Teachers can choose which of the two readers they want to cover in class and which pupils can
do at home for homework.

• More titles will be available once the production process ends, and you will receive these titles
as soon as they are completed.
